The Christian Sentinel E-update - July 1, 2003

New Resource this month.  UFOs: The Hidden Truth, a detailed video tape exposing the deceptions of the modern UFO movement.

Fifty Six years ago this July 4, an alleged flying saucer crashed near Roswell, N.M., ushering in endless speculations and a thriving UFO industry that is largely fraudulent.  This video tape, produced by New Liberty Videos, had Bill Alnor as a story consultant.  It contains perhaps the largest collection of video clippings of UFOs ever assembled. You may order the video from us for $19.95 plus postage by going to our order form.  Or click here for us to send it to you with an invoice.

Benny Hinn and John Paul Jackson -- False Prophets Make News

Benny Hinn and John Paul Jackson
Documented false prophet Benny Hinn has reportedly been pleading for money more and more, possibly as a result of last December’s unfavorable Dateline NBC special that exposed him as a phony.
"Hinn in the last few days is begging, pleading almost groveling asking people to please send money in," reported a cult-watcher recently. "He has serious bags under his eyes and the enthusiasm and lightness is all gone. There is a real change that is noticeable - I wonder if it is signaling a real crisis in the organization."
The Christian Sentinel has been on Hinn’s mailing list for many years but we received a flyer from Hinn’s ministry on July 1 that appeared to be a first.  It announced a 3-day conference in Houston, Texas coming up in September, 2003, with a "special miracle service." The difference is this time there’s an admission price of $75.00. I guess for once there won’t be an overflow problem. Desperate times call for desperate measures, we surmise.
Could it be that he has built such a vast empire that it takes more and more money to feed it?

Contention Over the High Places

Former Kansas City Prophet John Paul Jackson is teaching the New Age idea that the earth has places of spiritual entry points they call vortexes. But Jackson has given them a new name. He calls them "portals" and says that this is "one of the marvelous mysteries of God." These "doors or passageways," he says are "leading to and from the heavenly realms."

Well, it just so happens that the 90-acre property owned by his organization, Streams Ministries, is just such a vortex. Unfortunately, Jackson has had to share his portal with other less spiritual people. He says that the enemy "has been blocking the use of this portal and providing access only to the second Heaven. Every time I climb to the top of the land, which the locals refer to as ‘the Pinnacle,’ I have torn down demonic altars erected by witches who trespass on the property and defile places where God had once revealed Himself. But God is calling us to take back these high places, so that His angels can come and go without hindrance."

ECFA Investigates CRI; Finds Irregularities
-- Make-up of CRI board rapped
-- Existing CRI board unable to spot problems
-- Expenditures not properly documented
-- Potential conflicts of interest cited
-- CRI forced to conduct 'serious reimbursement' for monies spent that may not have had a `ministry-related purpose.'

Hanegraaff
The Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) is continuing a review of the scandal-ridden Christian Research Institute (CRI) that found all the above and more according to two public statements issued by the watchdog group in recent months.  However, CRI, which is headed by radio talk show host Hank Hanegraaff, is cooperating with the ECFA compliance review and is attempting to comply with breaches with ECFA standards, according to a June 17 statement.  But the investigation is ongoing and it will include "another on-site visit to CRI headquarters."  In light of the clear breaches of ECFA Standards, as outlined in the group's March 20 public statement, The Christian Sentinel is continuing to call for Christians NOT to contribute any money to CRI, and we are continuing a call for Hanegraaff to resign, along with his wife, Kathy, and others associated with that ministry, including Paul Young, Elliot Miller and Bob and Gretchen PassantinoTo continue reading story, click here...

Harry Potter: Witchcraft Repackaged
Reviewed by Jackie Alnor
bulletHarry Potter: Witchcraft Repackaged is a helpful video/DVD for those who are having Harry Potter shoved down their throats. It was produced by Caryl Matrisciana who is best known for her book and video Gods of the New Age.

On the opening day of the latest installment of Harry Potter: The Phoenix, I walked into our local Wal-Mart with my three children to do some grocery shopping. As we walked in, we were greeted by a young woman dressed as a witch -- all in black with a pointed hat, broomstick, and black smudge around her eyes. She was trying to push the new installment on my kids right in front of me. When I objected, she responded, "Oh, don’t you like magic?" I told her that if she chose to follow Harry Potter into hell that was fine, but I wasn’t going to let her take my kids with her. She was dumbfounded.

Since the Harry Potter phenomenon has hit the schools through Scholastic Press, the largest supplier of books to public schools, these books are also being pushed on our children at school. Christians need to know the truth about the dangers of allowing their children to jump on this witchy bandwagon and this video will give them all the particulars.

Many Christian discussion boards are totally divided over what position a Christian should take. And what side they come down on says a lot about that person’s love and commitment to Jesus and the truth of the Gospel.

Harry Potter: Witchcraft Repackaged is a full length documentary, but also on the DVD are two interview segments with the program’s producer Caryl Matrisciana. One is from the 700 Club and the other is an hour-long videotaped radio program from The Berean Call radio show featuring Dave Hunt and T. A. McMahon, authors of The Seduction of Christianity and publishers of The Berean Call newsletter. This discussion responds to the Christian apathy on the subject of Harry Potter.

When my 8th grade daughter offered to show this DVD to her teacher, a Baptist who was recommending the Harry Potter books to her class, she refused to look at it and said, "To each his own." That seems to be the position of most "Christian" Harry Potter enthusiasts -- stick their head in the sand mentality.

For those who want to honestly examine what Jesus thinks of such occultic fantasies, obtain one of these DVDs from Caryl Matrisciana Productions at http://www.Caryltv.com/

A death that the Trinity Broadcasting Network didn't publicize.  Recently we discovered that without much of a mention on TBN, that long-time repeat guest Dr. Richard Eby, author of Caught Up into Paradise and Didn't You Read my Book? died on Dec. 26, 2002.  Eby promised repeatedly on TBN -- with TBN president Paul Crouch verifying his words many times --  that God told him that he would not die -- that Christ's Second Coming was that close.  In Bill Alnor's book Heaven Can't Wait, Eby's strange views concerning his alleged trips to heaven (and hell) are discussed.

This new video documents the rise of religious deception within the church from the beginning of the 1900s to the present day.  Length: 90 minutes.  It is filled with actual film footage of preachers caught in deception. Jesus warned us of the great falling away.  Yet, many are convincing Christians this very deception is an outpouring of revival.  See for yourselves how the Spirit of Antichrist is within our Churches.
